We told you a while back that Kiwi breakout BENEE had, after a vigorous pub contest, inked with Jon Platt's Sony/ATV (see related stories below). Well, along with official word of that deal comes this photo of the singer/songwriter (whose "Supalonely" f/Gus Dapperton is a monster for Republic) signing her deal while her quarantined new publishing team looks on via online conference. Later, there was a FaceTime afterparty that apparently got quite raucous, and one A&R dude is reportedly now engaged to himself.
BENEE is managed by Paul Mckessar of CRS Music Management in New Zealand, who excused himself from a Zoom meeting with several sheep to celebrate the occasion. "Supalonely," meanwhile, is Top 10 at Spotify Global and Top 20 at U.S. Pop radio.
"BENEE is a gifted young songwriter and artist, who has proven how powerful music can be as a unifier and healer," declared SATV boss Platt. "We are happy to welcome her to the Sony/ATV family as she continues to elevate her career and influence."
