OLD-SCHOOL RAPPERS ENLIVEN THE LAST DANCE ST

The Last Dance, ESPN’s 10-part documentary on Michael Jordan’s sixth and final championship season with the Chicago Bulls, has given new life to classic tracks from ’90s MCs like Eric B. & Rakim, Mobb Deep, Boogie Down Productions, Kool Moe Dee, Big Pun, Jeru the Damaja and Wu-Tang Clan. Their righteously old-school rhymes and beats are among the highlights of a 37-song Spotify playlist pulling from the soundtrack to the series.

Estee Portnoy, MJ’s business manager and an executive producer for the series, got the word out when she tweeted a link to the playlist on Monday.

The playlist, which opens with The Alan Parsons Project’s “Sirius,” the Bulls’ theme song, and ends, inevitably, with Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” also contains cuts from Prince, Janet Jackson and The Beastie Boys, as well as then-newcomers Diddy (with The Notorious B.I.G.) and Jay-Z (with Jermaine Dupri).

The uncredited music supe deserves accolades for assembling this irresistible pop-cultural potpourri, which doubles as a readymade workout playlist.
