U.K. MIDWEEKS: FINE "TIME" FOR A LOUNGE ACT

BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Allstars are at the top of the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks with Foo Fighters cover “Times Like These” (BBC). Over on albums, producer/jazz instrumentalist duo Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes are challenging Dua Lipa for the top spot.

Proceeds from the sales of “Times Like These,” featuring Lipa, Dave Grohl, Chris Martin, Jess Glynne and many more, will go to BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief. Should the track hold onto its midweek peak, it will be the second charity single to top the chart in as many weeks. It’s a close race, though: The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” (Island) sits just 5.3k combined sales behind at #2.

The highest new entry today is The 1975's “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)” (Polydor/Dirty Hit) at #7, followed by rapper KSI f/Swarmz & Tion Wayne’s “Houdini” (RBC/BMG), starting at #11.

After premiering on Fortnite, Travis Scott and Kid Cudi could make a Top 20 debut with “The Scotts” (Sony) at #13.

Over on albums, Lipa’s Future Nostalgia (Warner Records) has moved back up to #1 while Misch and Dayes’s What Kinda Music (Caroline) at #2 with the weekend’s top vinyl sales.

Trivium is heading for its highest U.K. chart entry and seventh Top 40 with What The Dead Men Say (Roadrunner) at #5. Americana star Lucinda Williams is also on track for a personal best with Good Souls Better Angels (Thirty Tigers) at #14.

Following the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Allstars cover of “Times Like These,” Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits (Roswell) is set for its highest placement since October 2017, up 40 places to #15.

Travis Scott’s Astroworld (Sony) is also rebounding: It’s #20 following the debut of his new single.
