One Direction fans are currently going wild over rumors that the band are set to reunite for a 10-year anniversary project to mark the band’s formation on 7/23. Is there any truth to the rumor?
The rumor mill started whirring after Liam Payne told The Sun that emails are being passed back and forth with potential ideas for a special project, and Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan are reported to have re-followed Zayn Malik on Twitter. Payne told James Cordon on a home edition of The Late Late Show Tuesday: "I'm not allowed to say too much obviously because I would be giving it away, but we've been speaking a lot more at the moment. I think we are all feeling that that 10 year [milestone] is a very special moment."
According to our inside sources, Syco is helming the discussions, and there are no plans for a new record or tour. All members are said to be trying to figure something out, and our guess is that it would be some kind of event (the nature of which would depend on coronavirus-related restrictions). (And for what it's worth, some members never stopped following Malik in the first place.)
