A Ghana-born, Nashville-based songwriter, a British singer-poet from the 1970s and a performer who has more than 20 synchs on Grey’s Anatomy are among the biggest movers on the Shazam USA Top 100.
Naturally, with everyone staying home, film and TV placements dominate the landscape.
Hollywood Records’ “Bitch” from Ruby Amanfu, who has written with H.E.R., recorded with Beyonce and acted in CMT’s Nashville, tops this week’s biggest movers list after its inclusion in the 4/8 episode of Little Fires Everywhere.
Poet and musician Labi Siffre released a string of albums between 1970 and 1975 that caught the ears of hip-hop crate-diggers in the 1990s and early 2000s. His “I Got The…” (Parlophone) hits the U.S. and U.K. Shazam lists after a synch in Better Call Saul. Aron Wright’s 2014 track “Home” (Makeout Music) is among his 20+ songs that have wound up on Grey’s Anatomy, but this week it’s a Magnum P.I. placement that gets him among the leaders.
And with the streaming release of Trolls World Tour, Justin Timberlake’s “Perfect for Me” (RCA) shoots into the Top 5 of biggest movers.
