WMG, SPOTIFY
RENEW DEAL

Warner Music Group and Spotify have renewed their global licensing partnership covering exiting territories and expanding into new markets such as South Korea.

In a joint statement, they said, “The two companies look forward to collaborating on impactful global initiatives for Warner artists and songwriters, and working together to grow the music industry over the long term.”

Warner, whose deal with Spotify expired in 2019, joins Sony Music in re-signing with Spotify; Universal is still in negotiations. Spotify covered a large swath of the indie marketplace by signing a deal with Merlin.
