Warner Music Group has joined MusiCares efforts by making a donation to the COVID-Relief Fund. The fund, which launched last week, supports music-industry workers in need during the pandemic and has raised millions more than the initial $2m that started the fund.
“We’re backing the brave efforts of medical professionals around the world, as well as helping the musicians hurt the most by this crisis. We’re making donations to Heart to Heart International and to MusiCares and will continue to contribute to relief efforts in badly affected areas,” WMG CEO Steve Cooper said in a memo.
WMG’s donation joins contributions from the likes of Amazon Music, SiriusXM and Pandora, Spotify, Facebook, Tidal and YouTube Music.
