BANDCAMP BONANZA

During its effort to aid recording artists Friday, bandcamp sold $4.3m worth of music and merch, a significant spike over a typical Friday.

Bandcamp waived its cut for 24 hours, sending 100% of proceeds to artists and labels selling goods. Nearly 800,000 items were sold, 15 times a normal Friday, and at the peak, fans were buying 11 items per second.
