POSTPONED: BTS CALLS OFF 2020 TOUR

BTS has postponed its Map of the Soul world tour that was scheduled to begin 7/3-4 at London’s Twickenham Stadium before heading to Rotterdam, Berlin and Barcelona.

Live Nation UK announced, “Unfortunately, due to the ongoing government advisories on mass gatherings, BTS Map Of The Soul Tour—Europe has been postponed. Our highest priority remains the safety of our artists and fans as well as the global community.”

The European leg was to follow the now-postponed dates BTS had planned for the U.S. Big Hit Entertainment is working on a new tour schedule, cautioning it may “require considerable time.”

Bad Religion has chosen to cancel all touring commitments for the foreseeable future. The band had been scheduled to tour extensively through North America, Japan and Europe, including a nearly sold-out co-headlining tour with Alkaline Trio.

The Newport Folk Festival and Jazz Festival have been officially canceled and the acts scheduled to perform have been invited to appear in 2021. Organizers have created multiple options for ticket holders to donate, retain tickets for 2021 or get a full refund.

Elton John has postponed the remaining North American dates on this years Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, moving 25 shows to 2021.

John’s team tweeted: “This tough decision has been made with the continued safety and well-being of his fans at a time when health services are under increased pressure and with the concern that these gatherings continue to risk accelerating the spread of the coronavirus.”

He had previously postponed 3/26-5/2 dates; the new delays are for 5/22-7/8. New show date information for 2021 will be announced soon and all original tickets will be honored at the rescheduled performances.

John's farewell tour started in September 2018 and is now scheduled to resume 9/9 in Belgium.

Louisville's Trifesta—the Louder Than Life, Hometown Rising and Bourbon & Beyonce festivals from producer Danny Wimmer Presents—have been canceled. The three events were scheduled for September.

New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center has suspended all in-person concerts, classes and public programs through 6/30 in their two concert halls and nightclub. Lincoln Center had previously canceled its summer programming—Midsummer Night Swing, the Mostly Mozart Festival, and Lincoln Center Out of Doors, which includes the NYC version of the Americana Festival.

Dead & Company’s 17-date summer tour of stadiums has been called off, canceling rather than postponing to ensure that fans get their money back.

Bright Eyes has moved three of their June dates to 2021 and postponed another two while canceling 10 of their May and June concerts.

While the Celebrate Brooklyn Festival in Prospect Park has been canceled in New York, organizers of Central Park's SummerStage are preparing for a late start.

“We are able to be really flexible,” Heather Lubov, the executive director of City Parks Foundation, which runs SummerStage, told NY1. “We have a mobile stage that we can set up basically in a day. And we have an RV that we can drive in and use as a dressing room for our artists.”

Forecastle Festival in Louisville, Ky., scheduled for 7/17-19 and featuring Jack Johnson, Cage The Elephant and The 1975, has been canceled.

The Black Keys have canceled their monthlong tour of Canada in May. Their U.S. leg begins 7/7 in Auburn. Wash.

King Crimson has moved their 2020 tour to 2021.

Taylor Swift has canceled all of her 2020 appearances. Bon Jovi canceled their summer tour rather than postpone to allow ticketholders to get refunds.

Electric Forest has canceled its 10th anniversary edition scheduled for 6/25-28, 2020 in Rothbury, Mich. All 2020 Wristband & Lodging Package purchasers will have until 5/21 to decide to either retain their order for Electric Forest 2021 or request a refund.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, which planned to have The Who, Dead & Co. and Stevie Nicks headline, has been canceled.

“We feel strongly that the most prudent course right now is to allow more time for the situation to stabilize,” organizers said in a statement.

The 2021 edition will be held 4/22-5/2. Tickets for 2020 will be honored next year and the refund process will be announced by 4/22.

Germany has canceled all of the music festivals scheduled for summer as Chancellor Angela Merkel banned all large public gatherings until at least 8/31.

The Hurricane, Southside, and Melt festivals plus Splash!, Wacken Open Air and Parookaville are among the events canceled.

The Montreux Jazz Festival, scheduled for 7/3-18 with Lionel Richie, Brittany Howard, Lenny Kravitz and others, has been canceled for the first time in its 53 years.

Against Me!’s May tour of North America has been canceled as have Santana's May dates at the House of Blues Las Vegas.

Shawn Colvin has moved eight of her Steady On 30th Anniversary Tour from April and May to March and April 2021. The tour is scheduled to resume 7/28 in Annapolis, Md.

The Foals/Local Natives/Cherry Glazer May-June U.S. and Canada tour has been canceled.

The Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans, already postponed once, has been canceled and will return in 2021. New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell has recommended that no large events take place in New Orleans in 2020.

Belgian dance music festival Tomorrowland 2020, scheduled for mid-July, has been canceled.

Thom Yorke has rescheduled his Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes tour, which will now start 9/27 in Washington, D.C., and include three shows in New York.

Yorke’s D.C. show has been moved to The Anthem from Eagle Bank Arena in Fairfax, Va. He’s at Radio City Music Hall on 10/2 and Hammerstein Ballroom on 10/3-4. The St. Paul, Minn., show has been canceled.

Sam Hunt, with special guests Kip Moore, Travis Denning and Ernest, is the first concert in Milwaukee’s Summerfest to be rescheduled. It will take place 9/4 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. More information about rescheduled performances on 9/3-5, 10-12, 17-19 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater and BMO Harris Pavilion will be released soon.

Jeff Beck is working on new dates for his nine-date U.K. tour scheduled for May.

The LOCKN’ festival in Arlington, Va., has been moved to 10/1-4.

WOMAD, scheduled for Charlton Park, Wiltshire in England, has been canceled. Peter Gabriel said many of the acts booked for this year will appear in next year’s edition on 7/22-25/21.

Niall Horan is postponing his tour a full year. He was scheduled to start his 32-date outing 4/20 in Nashville and wrap 8/2 in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas has been moved to 10/2-4.

…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead has moved their spring North American headline tour dates to July. The rescheduled dates include a few new stops, such as Nashville and Miami.

James Taylor and Jackson Browne’s U.S. tour is being postponed with an eye toward starting as soon as late summer.

Taylor’s 6/21 Fenway Park with Brandi Carlile and Shawn Colvin has been postponed as well though his Tanglewood concert on the Fourth of July is still on the schedule.

Taylor and Browne, who tested positive for Coronavirus, issued a joint statement: "As this summer's tour of 27 towns and cities across the US drew near, we've been increasingly excited to hit the road again. So it's deeply disappointing for both of us to have to call it off and reschedule (and reschedule we WILL)! As we all now realize, COVID-19 is a serious, real and present danger. Moreover, our public health is all of our responsibility. So let us listen to and follow the directions of our public healthcare people and support their efforts in this unprecedented time of global pandemic. Love those around you and, above all, stay safe and healthy."

Rolling Loud Miami, the hip-hop festival with Post Malone, Travis Scott and A$AP Rocky as headliners, has been moved to Presidents Day weekend next year (2/12-14) at the Hard Rock Stadium. The lineup from the planned May edition will not change.

Kesha has postponed her High Road Tour until later in the year. The 28-date amphitheater tour of North America was slated to run 4/23 to 6/7.

Boston Calling, positioned to open the summer festival season after other festivals postponed, has been canceled.

The Memorial Day Weekend (5/22-24) fest was to be the first show for the Rage Against the Machine reunion tour.

Justin Bieber has postponed his 45-date tour.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame has pushed its 51st annual Induction & Awards Gala to next year. The event will be held 6/10/21, at the Marriott Marquis New York.

Luke Combs has slotted five postponed April dates into September, October and November.

The Foo Fighters Van Tour has new dates. The group's 7/4 date in Landover, Md., has been canceled.

The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) will hold its Indie Week and Libera Awards online. The event is sticking with the original dates, 6/15-18.

Rihanna has postponed the 2020 edition of her Diamond Ball, scheduled for September.

Ringo Starr's All Starr Band, featuring Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie and others, has moved its spring 2020 tour, slated to start in May, to the spring of 2021.

Mike Garson’s A Bowie Celebration has rescheduled 14 performances that were postponed or cancelled as a result of the global pandemic. The tour will resume 9/2 in Detroit and run through 9/20 with a 9/19 show at NYC’s Sony Hall. A portion of tour proceeds will go to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The III Points festival in Miami, with headliners The Strokes and Robyn, has moved to 10/16-17 from the first two days of May.

Primavera Sound at Barcelona's Parc del Forum will take place 8/26-30. Organizers are working toward keeping the lineup, which had Lana Del Rey, Bad Bunny and Tyler, The Creator as headliners, intact.

Added to the list of canceled festivals are Mountain Jam in Bethel, N.Y., 5/29-31; Britain's Download Festival on 6/12-14; and the 6/11-14 Isle of Wight Festival.

Midem 2020, scheduled for 6/2-5 in Cannes, is canceled, as organizers are focusing on creating a Midem Digital Edition during those same dates. The next edition in Cannes will take place 6/1-4/21, marking the event's 55th anniversary. The Digital Edition this June will livestream globally, and will include keynotes, talks and presentations.

The Milk Carton Kids have moved their West Coast dates to August and September.

New York’s Governors Ball and London’s All Points East have scrapped plans for their 2020 festivals.

BTS is looking for new U.S. stadium dates.

Thomas Rhett’s Center Point Road Tour has been rescheduled to kick off 7/9 in Charlotte, N.C. Rhett has rescheduled dates in cities such as Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Gilford, N.H., as the tour now runs deep into September.

Garth Brooks has moved two of his three stadium shows. He’s now in Charlotte, N.C. on 6/13, Cincinnati on 6/27, and Las Vegas on 8/22.

Cher has postponed her Here We Go Again Tour, which will now begin 9/8 in Tampa, Fla. The 22-date tour, mostly through the middle of the country, wraps 12/5 in Miami.

Josh Groban's Great Big Radio City Show, scheduled to take place at Radio City Music Hall on 4/18, has been postponed to 10/5.

Little Big Town has moved spring dates on their Nightfall Tour to a the fall and winter. They’ll play three shows in Denver 8/8-10, play Phoenix on 9/24, Detroit and Chicago in October on the West Coast in January.

Brooks & Dunn have moved their Reboot Tour and will now start 8/28 in Cincinnati. The 18-date tour of the Midwest and East wraps 10/30 in Dallas.

Kelly Clarkson’s Las Vegas residency at the Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood has moved from a 4/1 start date to July.

Dan + Shay have hit the brakes on their tour and delayed the run until summer, picking up on 7/30 in Tulsa and running through Halloween in Tacoma, Wash.

Third Eye Blind has rescheduled its seven U.S. shows in March and will resume touring 5/31 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles.

Reba McEntire’s spring tour is now a summer tour, starting 7/9 in Huntsville, Ala.

Alicia Keys has delayed the release of her album ALICIA (RCA) and her tour, which was scheduled to start in the U.K. in June and hit the U.S. in July.

The Rolling Stones were scheduled to go on 15-date run between 5/8 and 7/9, opening in San Diego and wrapping in Atlanta. Promoter AEG Presents/ Concerts West is telling ticketholders to wait for updates.

Alanis Morissette is rescheduling her 12-date April tour of Japan, Manila, Australia and New Zealand. Her U.S. run begins 6/2 in Washington.

Kenny Chesney has delayed dates from 4/18 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, through 5/28 at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. They hope to have new dates to announce within five weeks. The tour’s new opening date is expected to be 5/30 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Florida Georgia Line, Old Dominion and Michael Franti & Spearhead are also on the bill.

Billie Eilish will be rescheduling 11 shows in Philadelphia, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Nashville and elsewhere.

The Who’s U.K. and Ireland tour is being rescheduled for later in the year.

Michael Bublé will be rescheduling 15 concerts scheduled between 3/17 and 4/5. Tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

New dates will be announced soon for ZZ Top’s 3/20-28 residency at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas.

Outside the U.S.

Camila Cabello has not been able to start rehearsals for her Romance tour so she is postponing the European leg that was scheduled to begin 5/26 in Oslo. Her North America run is slated to begin 7/29 in Vancouver, B.C.

Dua Lipa has moved her U.K. and EU Future Nostalgia to 2021, beginning 1/3 in Newcastle and wrapping 2/16 in Madrid. She plans to announce the rest of the tour, including the U.S., soon.

Metalllica’s South American shows originally planned for April are in the process of being moved to December, though a few venues may change. They expect to have new dates to announce by 3/27. Greta Van Fleet will still open the shows.

Bon Iver’s tour of Europe and the U.K. has been moved to 2021 beginning 1/8 in London. They have 10 shows running through 1/29.

Joe Satriani has moved his entire European a full year ahead. The guitarist is keeping the 4/18 release date of his Sony Legacy album Shapeshifting, but his April-June tour of Europe has been moved to 2021. He now opens 4/9/21 in Zurich and has 22 dates booked through 5/6 in Glasgow. He has another 20+ dates to reschedule.

Guns N’ Roses has rescheduled all South American and Central American tour dates. The 10-city run now begins 11/8 in the Dominican Republic and wraps 12/6 in Bogota, Colombia.

Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets have moved their 14-date U.K. tour to October. It was slated to start 4/23.

The latest on festivals

Firefly, scheduled for 6/18-21 with Billie Eilish and Rage Against the Machine headlining has been canceled.

This year’s iHeart Wango Tango has been canceled. It was to be held 6/6 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson with Harry Styles headlining.

Lovers & Friends in L.A., featuring Lauryn Hill, Usher and TLC, has been moved to 8/8.

Bonnaroo has been moved to 9/24-27. All tickets and onsite accommodations remain the same. The festival says it will share updates via email, Bonnaroo.com and social media.

L.A.’s first edition of Cruel World, the '80s-themed festival with Morrissey, Bauhaus and Blondie headlining, has been moved to 9/12.

BottleRock Napa Valley has been rescheduled for the weekend of 10/2-4 at the Napa Valley Expo. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Nicks, Dave Matthews Band, Miley Cyrus, Khalid, Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals and Zedd are confirmed for the rescheduled dates. Additional lineup updates will be announced as soon as possible.

The Great Escape, the 5/13-16 festival for new music in Brighton, England, has been canceled. It will return in 2021.

Insomniac Events’ electronic dance music festival Beyond Wonderland SoCal has been moved to 6/19-20.

J. Cole’s DreamvilleFestival in North Carolina has been moved to 8/29 from early April.

The ninth annual Treefort Music Fest in downtown Boise, Idaho, has been moved to 9/23-27 from 3/25-29.

Pharrell WilliamsSomething in the Water will not take place this year. The next edition of the Virginia Beach fest will be 4/23-25, 2021.

Danny Wimmer Presents has canceled its three spring festivals: Epicenter in Concord, N.C, 5/1-3, Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Fla., 5/8-10 and Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio, 5/15-17.

Slipknot’s heavy-metal festival Knotfest Japan in Chiba, Japan, is looking for new dates later in the year. Korn, Marilyn Manson, Anthrax and more were scheduled to perform.

Lollapalooza Argentina, headlined by Guns N’ Roses, Travis Tritt, The Strokes and Lana Del Rey, and scheduled for 3/27-29, has been postponed until the second half of the year.

Big Ears, Ashley Capps’ four-day fest in Knoxville, Tenn., has been canceled.

Other events

Sofar Sounds has canceled upcoming shows for 2,000 artists in hundreds of cities across six continents since 3/13. They have advanced each artist’s full payment for the canceled shows and is establishing a fund with an initial goal of $250,000 to focus on providing direct financial support to the artists who rely on Sofar and other local gigs to make a living.

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony has been rescheduled for 11/7, with the live broadcast from the Public Auditorium in Cleveland.

The New York Philharmonic canceled the remainder of its season on 3/23, and will lose about $10m in revenue.

ASCAP has scrapped its three awards ceremonies scheduled for April and May in L.A.: Screen Music Awards, Pop Music Awards and Latin Music Awards.

BMI’s awards galas scheduled for May—the Pop Awards and Film, TV & Visual Media Awards—are being postponed and will be rescheduled.

Tony Awards and Emmy Awards will be delayed.
