In our latest Pinging, we shine a light on BENEE's "Supalonely," which is buzzing in all the right places. Don't take our word for it—just check out the numbers.
BENEE "Supalonely" (Republic)
Like a heat-seeking missile, BENEE's "Supalonely" has rocketed up the DSP charts in March. The sharp increase in streams—nearly 4m last week compared to roughly 500k weekly before March—is likely attributed to TikTok. "Supalonely" now has over 1.5m videos on TikTok, with multiple influencers creating their own dance to the pop jam.
The track has hit a new peak every day this week on Spotify's U.S. daily chart, climbing to its highest position yet at #30 on 3/11. It first cracked Spotify's Top 200 last Monday, 3/2 (#189), and by the end of the week (3/7) was inside the Top 75.
The New Zealand act was signed to Republic a year ago by Daniel Vayness and Rob Stevenson. "Supalonely" first appeared on BENEE's November 2019 EP Stella & Steve and was recently added to Today's Top Hits on Spotify. It's currently #3 on Apple Music's Alternative song chart as it approaches the Top 100 on Apple's all genre chart.
