FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

The third album from Def Jam’s Jhené Aiko is having a most impressive flipover Friday, topping the iTunes album chart and sitting at #3 at Apple Music. The debut from indie sensation Lauv is showing well on both iTunes charts.

Three veteran acts are battling for #1 at songs.

The third album from Hawaiian singer Aiko, Chilombo, is followed by Lauv’s how I’m feeling (AWAL) at #2 at iTunes albums, while his single “Who” pops in at #4 on songs.

K-Pop boy band NCT 127's NCT #127 NeoZone—The 2nd Album (SM/Caroline) is #3. The nonet has a six-city tour of U.S. arenas slated for June.

Jadakiss’ fifth album, Ignatius (Def Jam), is planted at #4. Mandy Moore’s first album in 10 years, Silver Landings (Verve Forecast) taxis at #5. She starts a TV promo blitz next week, beginning with a CBS Sunday Morning profile.

Megan Thee Stallion riding in at #6 with Suga (1501/300 Ent.). The nine-song EP is also #6 at Apple Music. Silverstein’s A Beautiful Place to Drown (UNFD) follows at #7. Phantogram’s fourth album, Ceremony (Republic), opens at #8.

Passion’s Roar (Live from Passion 2020) (sixtsteps/Sparrow/CCMG) gets a shout-out at #9. UMe’s collection of live tracks from Cream’s final tour, Goodbye Tour—Live 1968, is #22. Drum solo fans alert: The set includes more than 36 collective minutes of “Toad.”

Over at songs, Demi Lovato’s “I Love Me” (Island) takes over #1 this morning from the Dixie Chicks’ Wednesday release “Gaslighter” (Columbia), which is #2. Katy Perry’s Thursday drop, “Never Worn White” (Capitol), is married to #3.

But the curious entry is at #12—Ace’s 1975 hit “How Long.” The song is being used in a current ad for Amazon Prime. So instead of binge-watchers saying, “Alexa, I feel like grooving to the ever-charming vocals of Paul Carrack,” they head to iTunes to make a purchase. Or maybe they do both. Go figure.
