INT'L WOMEN'S DAY, MUSICALLY SPEAKING

Need an inspiring playlist or actvity for International Women's Day? Pandora, Apple and Spotify are all honoring Sunday’s celebration with a host of musical offerings.

Pandora put together a playlist that honors the women who have blazed a trail in the male-dominated field of music production. The Women of the Board playlist is all songs produced by women, beginning with tracks overseen by the artists themselves, like TOKiMONSTA, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. The Women of the Board playlist can be accessed here.

Spotify is celebrating female voices by spotlighting the top female artists and female-led podcasts. The IWD Top 50 includes tracks by Billie Eilish, Swift, Ariana Grande, Halsey and Camila Cabello. The podcasts in the spotlight include My Favorite Murder and Crime Junkie.

Apple is going IRL with its “She Creates” series in Apple Stores to highlight female creators using photography, design, technology, business, music and film to address issues, explore perspectives and empower communities. Meghan Trainor and Victoria Monét are among the participants.

Online, Alicia Keys invites people to deconstruct her new song “Underdog,” learn what inspires her to create, and remix their own version using GarageBand on iPhone and iPad. Learn more here.

On Sunday, Apple Podcasts’ “Changing the Narrative” will feature podcasts celebrating women podcasters, shows and stories.

Meanwhile, Downtown Music Publishing's Women's History Month playlist celebrates the work of female artists and songwriters from the Downtown catalog, including legendary icons as well as emerging talent from around the globe.
