TAYLOR TOPS IFPI BEST-SELLERS LIST

What begins with Taylor Swift and ends with The Beatles? Give up? Why it’s the list of the best-selling recording artists of 2019.

IFPI has Swift atop its list of the world’s biggest sellers list thanks largely to her August release Lover that debuted at #1 in more than 10 countries. It’s the second time she’s come in first, having achieved the feat in 2014.

“Taylor Swift is the epitome of a truly global star,” said IFPI Chief Executive Frances Moore. “She continues to grow as an artist and maintains an incredibly strong connection with her fan base, whilst continuing to evolve her sound with each album. It is a pleasure to be able to present her with the Global Recording Artist of the Year award for the second time.”
