RMR'S "RASCAL" HAS THE BIZ ABUZZ

A year after "Old Town Road" exploded, RMR's "Rascal"—which has hip-hop and country execs abuzz—has arrived as the next viral, cross-cultural phenomenon. Who is RMR? That remains somewhat unclear. What we do know is that the act is repped by Vince Phillips for legal.

"Rascal" samples "Bless The Broken Road," a country ballad originally performed by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1994, and but gained notoriety from Rascal Flatts' 2005 version, which earned a Grammy for Best Country Song in 2006.

Hip-hop A&Rs are scrambling to connect with RMR and their team, as the Country community watches in awe as a genre classic is spun into a viral video. The song is currently available on YouTube and Spotify, but has been pulled from Apple Music.

UPDATE: The original video has been pulled from YouTube due to copyright infringement. The song still remains on Spotify, where it has been added to major playlists including Pop Rising and Internet People.

Watch RMR's striking video below, and listen to Rascal Flatts' version of "Bless The Broken Road."
