U.K. CHARTS: BILLIE BONDS WITH #1

Billie Eilish has the biggest selling track in the U.K. of 2020 so far with the Bond theme “No Time To Die” (Polydor) hitting the top of the Official Singles Chart on 90k combined sales. Over on albums, Justin Bieber claims his second #1 with Changes (Virgin EMI).

“No Time To Die” is Eilish's first #1 single in Blighty. The track's sales were boosted by her performance at the BRITs Tuesday where she was crowned Best International Female. Of its 90k sales, 10.6m were streams, bringing Eilish’s total stream count in the U.K. to 1b across all of her tracks.

It's the second Bond theme to hit the top of the chart following Sam Smith's effort in 2015, and the biggest opening week for a track from the film franchise of all time, according to Official Charts data.

Three tracks from Bieber’s Changes feature in the Top 40: “Intentions” f/Quavo at #10, “Yummy” at #12 and “Forever” f/Post Malone and Clever at #29.

Changes secured the top spot by a margin of 150 combined sales in an incredibly tight Top 3 race that was separated by less than 1.2k sales. Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (Virgin EMI), which saw a 20% sales uplift following his double Brits win, remains at #2. Despite a midweek lead, Tame Impala finish the week at #3 with The Slow Rush (Fiction), while topping the vinyl chart.

British pop trio New Hope Club land at #5 with their self-titled debut (Virgin EMI), as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s Artist 2.0 (Atlantic) finishes at #11.

Following their BRITs performances, Dave and Lizzo both see a sales uplift. Dave’s British Album of the Year winner, Psychodrama (NBR), rises 43 places to #13 while the track he performed, “Black,” enjoys a 515% sales spike to re-enter at #100 on the Official Singles Chart. Lizzo hits a new chart peak with Cuz I Love You (Atlantic) at #35.
