U.K. CHARTS: WORKING FOR THE WEEKND

The Weeknd has his first U.K. chart-topper with “Blinding Lights” (Island) while Blossoms have scored their second #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with Foolish Loving Spaces (Virgin EMI).

Blossoms last hit the top of the charts with their self-titled debut in 2016, and peaked at #4 with the follow-up in 2018.

The second highest new albums entry today is Louis Tomlinson’s solo debut Walls (Syco) at #4. Last week’s #1 from J Hus, Big Conspiracy (Black Butter), slips down to #5.

Outside the Top 10, Taylor Swift’s former chart-topper, Lover (Virgin EMI), surges 25 places to #14 following the release of her documentary Miss Americana on Netflix.

Liam Gallagher’s new Acoustic Sessions collection (Warner Records) lands at #24, and his Why Me Why Not album rebounds 49 places to #31.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” completes a 10-week journey to the top, rising one place to #1 on 63k combined sales.

The track debuted at #14 in December before briefly dipping outside the Top 40; it has made a triumphant return in the new year.

Roddy Ricch finishes 8k combined sales behind at #2 with “The Box” (Atlantic), which claimed this week’s highest streaming figures. KSI f/Trippie Redd’s “Wake Up Call” (BMG) scores the highest new entry at #11, marking the YouTuber-turned-musician’s third Top 40 single.

Only 100 chart sales behind, Dua Lipa lands a #12 debut with her latest single, “Physical” (Warner Records).
