INGROOVES: TOKYO DRIFT

Indie marketing and distribution company Ingrooves Music Group has established a Tokyo office, naming industry veteran Ryukatsu Son Managing Director of Ingrooves Japan. The move reflects Ingrooves’ growing global presence, after the company expanded into Brazil earlier this year.

Ryukatsu comes to Ingrooves from Amazon Japan, where he was Head of Licensing, Digital Music, and was involved in the launch of Amazon Music HD in Japan. He has also held senior positions at Fujipacific, Spotify Japan, Warner Music Japan and Sony.

“Japan has an incredibly vibrant domestic music market and is a key area of focus for us moving forward,” said Bob Roback, CEO of Ingrooves. “Ryukatsu Son is a respected industry veteran with a background in both the label and DSP sides of the business. He will focus on offering our services to local labels and artists, while also enhancing the marketing of our global clients in Japan.”

Ryukatsu Son added: “Ingrooves has a reputation around the world as one of the most forward-thinking, innovative distributors of music and I am excited to anchor their growing global footprint in Tokyo.”
