Fresh off his Grammy victory and killer performance, Columbia's Tyler, the Creator collected yet another trophy on 1/29, the Maverick Award at the Kodak Film Awards. He received his laurel alongside such film biggies as Quentin Tarantino, Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig during the buoyant, informal event (held at the American Society of Cinematographers HQ around the corner from our offices). Honorees were saluted for their commitment to making their projects on film, hailed as a richer, truer and higher-resolution medium than video. Should your artists wish to follow this example, Steve Bellamy and Vanessa Bendetti, the nice folks from Eastman Kodak who helped preside over the event, will offer plenty of encouragement. Tyler, meanwhile, saw us and wigged out.
