MusiCares, the Recording Academy's philanthropic arm, honored Aerosmith at its annual Person of the Year gala Friday night at the LA Convention Center. The event reportedly raised $6m for MusiCares and its initiative in providing resources for music people in need.
Amazon Music boss and MusiCares Chairman Steve Boom kicked off the festivities with an introductory speech. Steven Tyler's attorney, power-lawyer Dina LaPolt presented Aerosmith with the Person of the Year award.
The night featured performances from Cheap Trick, Jonas Brothers, Ashley McBryde, Yola & Gary Clark Jr., John Legend, Kesha, Foo Fighters, and Aerosmith w/H.E.R., among others.
