"WE WON'T SLEEP":
AN ANTHEM FOR
THE MARCH
... AND THE MOMENT

It's almost MLK Day, when we ponder the toil and sacrifice required for positive political change. It's almost Impeachment time, when we consider the tremendous peril faced by our democracy. And it's almost time for the next Women's March, when we see what the next wave of American activism will bring.

Singer/songwriter/writer/activist Ari Afsar, who sang the role of Eliza in the Chicago production of Hamilton, has a brand new tool for motivation. "We Won't Sleep" is the first glimpse of Jeannette, the musical she's co-created with Lauren M. Gunderson. It tells the story of Jeannette Rankin, the very first U.S. Congresswoman, who was elected shortly after suffrage. This joyous clip of the song's creation gives us a bit of hope in a difficult time.
