TAMAKI HEADS TO UNIVERSAL JAPAN
Spotify Japan's GM & President, Ichiro Tamaki, has made the leap to Universal Music Japan to oversee its digital strategy, data analytics and platform partnerships.
Spotify Japan’s GM & President, Ichiro Tamaki, has made the leap to Universal Music Japan to oversee its digital strategy, data analytics and platform partnerships.
With the title of Corporate Executive for Digital Strategy, Tamaki will oversee the Data & Analytics and Platform Partnerships teams, and will be responsible for leading and developing UMJ’s digital and streaming strategy for Japan. He will work directly with international divisions and platform partners, to ensure that UMJ continues to innovate the streaming experience. He will be based in Tokyo and report to UMJ CEO Naoshi Fujikara.
Tamaki joins UMJ after serving as GM & President of Spotify Japan since 2016. Prior to that, he served as VP at Amazon, driving and expanding Amazon’s hardware and Kindle content businesses in Japan.
