THE DOORS CHECK IN, 50 YEARS LATER

The façade of the hotel was restored to an exact replica of the original album cover of Morrison Hotel, which came out in February 1970.

The fourth annual Day of The Doors was held Saturday at the original Morrison Hotel on Hope Street in L.A. where guitarist Robby Krieger took a stroll down memory lane.

Rhino’s event featured Krieger performing with Dennis Quaid and engaging in a Q&A with Michael Des Barres.

A sneak preview of the concert doc The Doors: Break on Thru—A Celebration Of Ray Manzarek was shown along with the 2010 Doors documentary, When You’re Strange. Break on Thru will be in cinemas worldwide on 2/12.

Rhino will also be releasing a 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Morrison Hotel this year.
