Eminem has done it again. In similar fashion to 2018's Kamikaze, the rap icon has returned with another surprise drop, Music to Be Murdered By. Em's 11th LP arrived at midnight 1/17 via Shady/Aftermath/Interscope.
Music to Be Murdered By follows 2018's Kamikaze, which caught fans and the music biz by storm. As the story goes, only a handful of players in his circle were aware of the LP's release. Kamikaze, released on 8/31/18, debuted at #1 with a heavy bow of 434k. It has earned over 1.7m in activity (including video) since its release. In its first week, Kamikaze's 434k breaks down into 252k in pure sales, with 226m streams and 142k song downloads.
2017's Revival is approaching 1m in activity, and debuted with a first week number of 276k.
If MTBMB debuts #1, Eminem will become the artist with the most consecutive #1 debuts with 10, surpassing Kanye West.
The album features the late Juice WRLD, Ed Sheeran, Anderson .Paak, Royce Da 5'9, Skylar Grey and more. The album has 20 tracks total clocking in just over an hour.
Could Eminem's comeback include a return to the Grammy stage? Stay tuned.
