GRAMMY TALK:
JONAS BROTHERS

For Republic’s Jonas Brothers, 2019 meant reunion and revival, much of which was documented in their splashy Amazon documentary, Chasing Happiness. Happiness Begins—their fifth studio album, and first in a decade—debuted with the biggest bow of the year at the time of its June release, when it moved 405k. The set has since been certified platinum.

“This has been our greatest year yet,” JoBros tell us. “We get to be back onstage performing together again, and to top it off we got a Grammy nomination for the song that started it all, ‘Sucker.’ We couldn’t be more grateful.” That now-double-platinum comeback single, which was crafted in part by hitmakers Ryan Tedder, Louis Bell and Frank Dukes, is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. It was the first song in the history of the JoBros to debut at #1 on the Hot 100, and it quickly climbed to the top of the Mediabase Top 40 radio chart.

At presstime, their UTA-helmed Happiness Begins Tour had them at #4 on Pollstar’s LIVE75 Chart, sharing the Top 5 with U2, Elton John, Luke Combs and Celine Dion. They were reportedly selling an average of 13.3k tickets and earning an average gross of $1.2m per show—based on info gathered from three of their most recent stops. Also according to that info, the dates were 98% sold out.

The sibs spent a week on Corden in the spring to christen their return, while snagging an SNL appearance soon thereafter. More recently they played the 12/13 Z100 Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden, which preceded two headlining dates at L.A.’s 17.5k-cap Forum.
