Roc Nation supremo Shawn Carter (whom you may also know as Jay-Z) has upped Desiree Perez to CEO, effective immediately. Previously named CEO and fellow co-founder Jay Brown has been newly dubbed Vice Chairman. Perez, a co-founder of the company, has served as COO since 2009; music, management, biz dev, philanthropy, publishing, touring, TV and film will all be within her purview. According to the announcement, in his new role, Brown will “continue to cultivate partnerships and expand the breadth of Roc Nation as a global powerhouse.”
Perez was honored as Executive of the Year at Billboard's Women in Music extravaganza on 12/12.
