BECK KICKS OFF CAPITOL CUTS

Capitol Cuts, a new CMG initiative, kicked off on 12/9 with Beck performing at the legendary Capitol Studios. Capitol Cuts is an intimate, experiential series wherein a limited number of superfans get to witness their favorite artist record live to vinyl.

During this, the first event of the series, Beck performed songs from throughout his catalog, including "Saw Lightning" from his just-released LP Hyperspace, "Dreams" and classics such as "Lost Cause," "Devil's Haircut," "New Pollution," and crowd favorite "Where It's At." The performance was also livestreamed.

CMG execs in attendance included CMG VP Global Strategic Marketing Arjun Pulijal, CMG SVP 1750 Agency Brian Nolan, Caroline EVP Matt Sawin, CMG EVP Global Strategic Marketing Mitra Darab and Capitol Studios VP Paula Salvatore. Also making the scene were artist Mac DeMarco, Universal Pictures EVP Film Music Rachel Levy, music supervisor George Drakoulias, Kobalt's Kat Basolo, Apple/Beats By Dr. Dre's Ed Alexander and We Are Hear's Nanci Walker.

The mantra of the series is "one take, recorded direct to lacquer, plated, pressed and shipped to fans in just over a week," thus creating new catalog recordings, accompanied by longform video content.
