SPOTIFY BREAKS DOWN "THE BEST"

The hits keep coming: Spotify has revealed its first-ever “Best Of” collections for its genre flagship playlists such as Today’s Top Hits, RapCaviar and Hot Country.

Spotify’s editorial team has created 16 playlists for genres such as folk and Americana, indie rock, Afropop, Christian music and Latin music. Each playlist begins with a Top 10 while the rest of the playlist is sequenced for the best listening experience.

For each genre, there is a Best Of for 2019 and one for the 2010s. The playlists are located in the Wrapped hub.

“These playlists are 100% human curated by our expert teams,” said Jeremy Erlich, Spotify’s Head of Music Strategy. “Whether one agrees or disagrees with the choices, we hope they will generate a bigger cultural conversation about music.”

Perhaps Spotify could alert the White House that “Best Of” makes sense, while “Be Best” hurts our grammatically trained ears.
