HOZIER DEFIES
THE "JACKBOOT"

In these very troubled times, quite a few music-watchers—ourselves included—have been asking: Where are the political anthems? Where are the protest songs? Well, Columbia troubadour Hozier fires a shot across the bow with new jam "Jackboot Jump," a blistering response to the rise of fascism, authoritarianism and white nationalism worldwide that also showcases his incendiary guitar chops. An intense live version of the track, recorded in El Paso and featuring powerful interplay between the Irish artist and drummer Rory Doyle, appears below. Hozier, whose sold-out tour is ongoing, gave the song its TV debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
