Mel Carter, who had served as a consultant for Republic since last year, has gotten an official title at the company: SVP A&R.

“Mel has proven himself to be a true disruptor," shared EVP Rob Stevenson, who made the announcement. "He ignited a movement with [independent label] Hikari Ultra [a joint venture Carter handles with business partner and co-founder Righteous P] that is diverse, dangerous, and dynamic—cutting his own path in the industry. We are grateful he has decided to join our team in an expanded role.”
