BEAN'S FINAL SCENE AT KROQ

After 30 years on the air as morning co-host at L.A. Alternative bellwether KROQ, Gene "Bean" Baxter signed off on 11/7. His last day the station, as the L.A. Times reported, was filled with tearful tributes, absurd and funny recollections and—in the case of long-banished employee Poorman, who checked back in via phone—a little bit of contention.

Bean brought a sharp and off-kilter comedic sensibility to the long-running (and often very highly rated) Kevin & Bean Show, and accomplished what the best on-air folks do: helped create a community with his voice. We enjoyed his wackiness for many a year and we're sorry to see him go. As a tribute, here are a few classic pics from his KROQ tenure.
