PR EXEC BAXTER JOINS SONY/ATV

Dana Baxter will lead all of Sony/ATV’s global communications strategies as SVP of Corporate Communications, starting 11/1. She will report to Chairman and CEO Jon Platt and be based in New York.

Baxter joins from ESSENCE, where she most recently served as Vice President, Communications and Influencer Relations, and was instrumental in developing the annual ESSENCE Festival. She began her career at MTV Networks before working at PolyGram/Universal Music Group.

“Dana’s talent drive and broad scope of experience make her an ideal fit for my vision of the future of our company,” Platt said. “Much of Dana’s career has been spent developing innovative and impactful ways to attract and engage diverse audiences, and I look forward to working closely with her on a number of initiatives.”
