UNEARTHED DEMO CELEBRATES 40TH ANNI OF PRINCE

Prince’s self-titled second album dropped 40 years ago and to celebrate, The Prince Estate and Warner Records have released a solo acoustic demo of the Grammy-winning “I Feel for You.”

The new two-track single includes the demo of “I Feel for You” on the A-side and the studio recording on the B-side. It’s available on streaming services and as a Made to Order release exclusively at Prince.com for the next seven days.

Prince, 20 at the time, recorded the song on a cassette recorder in the winter of 1978-1979, around the time he was preparing to make his solo debut at the Capri Theater in North Minneapolis. The album Prince was released on 10/19/79; Chaka Khan had the hit with the song in 1984.
