SPOTIFY PROVIDES CANVAS FOR ARTISTS' VISUALS

Spotify for Artists, the artist-facing dashboard within Spotify, has expanded the beta for their new Canvas feature, which allows artists to create their own visuals to go along with their music on the service. As of 10/10, they'll be inviting some of the most active Spotify for Artists users to join the beta.

Still in limited availability, and until now only in the testing phase with select artists such as Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Flying Lotus and Bon Iver, Canvas allows artists to directly connect to their fans and bring their body of work to life on a track-by-track basis. Spotify notes that engaging Canvases can increase streams, saves and artist profile visits, and result in more sharing overall.

Per the Spotify for Artists blog

Canvas is a chance for artists to further their listeners’ experience with whatever compelling visual content they develop: continuous loops or hard cuts that will lead viewers further into a visual identity, and add texture to an album’s narrative. This is an opportunity to think further outside the box, get personal, and increase the capacity to touch listeners in a multidimensional way. If you haven’t received an invite and are interested in joining the beta, you can sign up for the waitlist here.

We, meanwhile, are on the waitlist for an early dinner res at Musso & Frank Grill, which we're hoping will clear any minute now.
