Remember when we told you Summer Walker was going to have a good first week and fight for #2 behind Post Malone? Well, it turns out we were, um, wrong. Having revisited our abacus and counted on our remaining fingers and toes we find she’s on track for a strong #1.
Not only that, but her chart bow will give Interscope 10 total weeks at #1, more than any other label.
So, you know, mea culpa and all that. We’re often wrong, but sometimes we’re very wrong and occasionally we just fall right on our asses. This is one of those times. Major props to Summer, her LVRN and Interscope teams and the handful of people who always insisted this thing was gonna be huge. They were right; we were wrong.
Which, come to think of it, is pretty on-brand for us.
Here’s the latest picture.
Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope) 115-125k total activity, 11-15k album
SuperM (SM/Capitol) 55-65k, 50-60k
Brantley Gilbert (Valory/BMLG) 38-43k, 35-40k
As of this writing, Summer has four tracks in the Apple Music Top 10 and eight in the top 15; her collabs with Bryson Tiller and Usher are leading.
Did we mention we were wrong? OK, just checking.
