POST ON PACE FOR 2019 ALBUM THRONE

By this time next week, Post Malone's Hollywood's Bleeding (Republic) will be crowned the biggest album of 2019 in total activity YTD. Propelled by two of the biggest singles of the year in "Wow." and Sunflower," Malone’s third LP—which is also, not coincidentally, the year’s streaming champ—should hit 2 million units in total activity within the next few days.

Bleeding's 2m YTD will surpass Billie Eilish's WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? (Darkroom/Interscope), which will be in the 1.98m range.

Along with a giant opening week, Malone's traction has been fueled by enormous stream counts, which will power Hollywood’s Bleeding to 120k units in its fourth week of activity. By comparison, Eilish’s album moved 88k in week four, while Ariana Grande's thank u, next moved 86k and Taylor Swift's Lover notched 79k.

While Swift's total after her first four weeks of album activity—a projected 1.22m—is greater than Malone's 950k, Post's pre-release singles "Wow." and "Sunflower" provided him with more than 1m in YTD activity, thanks to heavy consumption dating back to the beginning of the year.

What's more, Hollywood's Bleeding shows no sign of slowing down, following the long-tail patterns of its two predecessors. His 2016 debut album Stoney and and 2018’s beerbongs and bentleys are still in the Top 30 after 146 and 74 weeks, respectively.
