FIFA 20 IS A WINNER FOR SCHNUR

EA’s eagerly awaited FIFA 20 turns out to be a twofer. The latest edition of the massively popular fútbol game includes two separate soundtracks adding up to an unprecedented 113 songs and featuring acts from more than 20 countries. And even if you have two left feet like EA President of Music Steve Schnur, you’ll get a double kick out of this stadium-sized cornucopia of global grooves, now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer. And Steve is double-pumped about it.

“Originally, EA Sports FIFA soundtracks reflected world culture,” he says.”Then they began to influence culture. Today, the EA Sports FIFA soundtracks have become culture.”

First, FIFA 20’s 43-song soundtrack features marquee names like U.K. grime standard-bearer Skepta, American neo-soul hitmaker BJ the Chicago Kid, Spanish vocalists Rosalía & Ozuna, Israeli singer/songwriter Dennis Lloyd, Philly rapper Tierra Whack, London indie rockers Another Sky, D.C. -based rapper GoldLink, Norwegian R&B group Fieh, Brooklyn singer/songwriter Cautious Clay, U.K. band Foals, Australia’s emerging Flume, Florida rapper/singer Dominic Fike, Mercury Prize nominee Loyle Carner and The S.L.P. (Kasabian’s Serge Pissorno joined by rapper/singer Little Simz).

On top of that, VOLTA FOOTBALL’s soundtrack is packed with no less than 70 tracks from artists including Diplo’s Major Lazer, Norway’s JB Scofield, Cash Money’s reunited Birdman & Juvenile, Italian DJ Benny Benassi, Brazilian DJ Leo Justi, Chicago duo Louis the Child, Mexican-American hip-hop/EDM collaboration Don Elektron, L.A. producer Hoodboi, Harlem’s Skizzy Mars, Guernsey electronic phenom Mura Masa and stylistic innovator Anderson .Paak.

And let’s not forget about the requisite merch, which we’d hoped Steve would model for us: exclusive kits designed by Flume, Sofi Tukker, GoldLink and Judah & the Lion, available only when you preorder FIFA 20.

Now, if you'll excuse us, we have to catch our breath.
