CAROLINE ADDS MARKETING MUSCLE

Cindy James will lead leading Caroline’s commercial, artist marketing and commercial operations teams in the newly created position of Head of Commercial Marketing for Caroline.

She reports to Caroline Executive Vice President Matt Sawin, who made the announcement.

Based in the Capitol Tower, James will work with Caroline’s artist and label partners and teams within Capitol Music Group to develop, navigate and execute strategic campaigns for their releases.

“Having Cindy join the Caroline team is a game-changer,” Sawin said. “Her level of marketplace expertise, gravitas in the industry, and team leadership will put the ever-growing Caroline commercial team, and all of our artist and label partners, in an even better position to win.”

James was most recently VP of Streaming & Playlisting Strategy for Island Records and previously spent 10 years in senior positions with Sony Music in New York, London and Sydney. She began her career as a promoter, artist and tour manager, freelance music journalist and CD store manager.

Since moving from New York to Hollywood, James has proven to be an expert at distinguishing between construction site noise and old Ministry records.
