Alex Tear, who has just joined SiriusXM/Pandora as VP Music Curation and Programming, savors the radically different experience his new gig affords by posing for a trade photo with Republic’s Gary Spangler and squaddies, Phil Mcintyre’s Philymack crew and members of his new programming team. “This feels so … digital,” Alex marveled, just before the following people called him “buddy” and changed his contact info in their phones (l-r) Jeff Z, Philymack’s John Taylor, McIntyre, Tear, Spangler, SXM’s Jared Fox, Pandora’s Tiana Lewis, Republic’s Lucas Romeo, Philymack’s Alexis Rasten and Pandora’s Alex White (to whom Tear will report from his NYC office). Tear, you’ll note, was previously SVP Programming for iHeart Miami and PD of Y100. He plans to carry on his venerable Miami tradition of rollerblading in a thong.
