TILEYARD PAVES PATH FOR HUGHES

Former RCA U.K. Managing Director Neil Hughes has joined independent London-based company Tileyard Music as MD. The firm encompasses management, publishing and records, and has had successful releases with SigalaElla EyreThe ChainsmokersKygoSigma and Rudimental.

In his new role, Hughes will be working with Tileyard co-founders Michael HarwoodCharlie ArmePaul Kempe and Nick Keynes to continue to grow the business.

“Working with Tileyard Music on campaigns over the last few years, I have always been impressed by their tenacity and innovation,” Hughes said. “Tileyard Music has a clear vision for the future, and an ambitious team to help them realize it.”

At RCA, Hughes was upped to MD from GM upon the appointment of David Dollimore as President in 2016. He exited the label last year and was replaced by Stacey Tang. During his time at Sony, Hughes led campaigns for Platinum and Gold selling acts including Bring Me the Horizon, P!nkPaloma FaithJustin TimberlakeKodalinePharrell WilliamsJeff Lynne’s ELO and The Chainsmokers.

Arme called Hughes "a brilliant executive,” adding “He is joining the team as we embark on our biggest growth and most ambitious years yet and we cannot wait to share the successes."

Since forming six years ago, the team at Tileyard Music have achieved over 8bn streams with their various releases. The company is at the centre of Tileyard London, which encompasses over 100 independent music studios and more than 150 music businesses based within King’s Cross.
