Frank Turner has started at #2 on the U.K.’s Official Albums midweeks with concept record No Man’s Land (Polydor). Over on singles, Taylor Swift has the highest new entry at #9 with “Lover” (Virgin EMI).
Turner’s eighth album celebrates the life and stories of women throughout history. It presently sits behind Ed Sheeran, who is set to return to #1 for a fifth non-consecutive week with No.6 Collaborations Project (Atlantic).
Ride are also in for a Top 10 debut with their sixth album, This Is Not a Safe Place (Wichita), starting at #4. Other potential Top 10 debuts could come from Dublin five-piece The Murder Capital with their debut album, When I Have Fears (Human Season), at #6, a live recording of Celtic rock band Runrig’s farewell concert, The Last Dance (Sony Germany), at #7, Atonement by Killswitch Engage (Metal Blade) at #9 and Friendly Fires’ first album in eight years, Inflorescent (Polydor), at #10.
Over on the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are on course to claim a sixth non-consecutive week at #1 with “Senorita” (Syco/Virgin EMI).
Taylor Swift, meanwhile, should score her 14th U.K. Top 10 single with “Lover.”
Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” with Kygo (Columbia) is currently up two places to #3, and rapper Lil Tecca is heading for his first Top 10, with “Ransom” (Island) up five to #8.
