FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Taylor Swift’s latest single release, the title track from her upcoming Republic album, Lover, goes straight to #1 on the iTunes songs chart, followed by a new tracks from RCA's Miley Cyrus. The covers of the two tracks provide quite a study in contrasts.

Cyrus’s surprise release, “Slide Away,” is #2, three slots above Normani’s “Motivation” (Keep Cool/RCA). Another rookie, Pop Smoke f/Nicki Minaj’s “Welcome to the Party (remix)” (Victor Victor/Republic) has worked its way into the Top 20.

On the iTunes albums chart this flipover Friday, Killswitch Engage’s Atonement (Metal Blade) blasts its way to #1 ahead of Young Thug’s So Much Fun at #3 and #1 at Apple Music.

Ascend, the third full-length from AstralwerksIllenium, rises to #4, two slots ahead of Drew Holcomb & the NeighborsDragons (Magnolia/Thirty Tigers).

Sleater-Kinney’s ninth album in 25 years, The Center Won’t Hold (Mom+Pop), grabs #7 in the morning hours.

New titles from Frank Turner, Snoop Dogg, Sara Bareilles, The Hold Steady and Hunter Hayes sit just outside the Top 10.

Sitting at #5 at Apple Music is the 32-track compilation Quality Control: Control the Streets Vol. 2 (Quality Control/Motown) that features Lil Baby, City Girls, Stefflon Don and Marlo.
