It had been roughly 5,000 days since we’d heard anything new from Tool. But just days after the perennially spooky art-metal auteurs made their catalog available on the digital platforms, the title track from Fear Inoculum (RCA, 8/30) has appeared.
It's #1 at iTunes, while the album preorder is #1 at iTunes and Amazon. On top of that, catalog sales are exploding: Aenima is #1 on the iTunes album chart, one of four Tool albums in the Top 5 and five in the Top 10.
“Fear Inoculum” is over 10 minutes long, but what did you expect, 1:45? If you’ve got 10:22 to spare, take a listen.
