SPICE GIRLS 2.0 ... AND FAN GIRL ADELE

The reunited Spice Girls played the final of three shows at London’s 90k capacity Wembley Stadium Saturday as part of a reunion tour that has seen them perform to more than 700k fans. One of them was Adele.

Adele shared a heartfelt Instagram post about how the group have inspired her career, before hitting the bottle with them backstage.

The Spice World 2019 Tour spanned 13 dates across the U.K. Modest! and XIX Entertainment have taken on management duties of the reformed group, David Zedeck at UTA is agent, and the tour was promoted by SJM ConcertsLive Nation and Solo. 

There’s no official word yet on whether the tour will continue worldwide. As the group, minus Victoria Beckham, kicked off their London leg, new stats by the Official Charts Company confirmed that they are still the biggest-selling British girl band of all time.

A Top 100 chart of the best-selling singles and albums from girl bands of the last 25 years places “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls at #1 on singles with 1.7m combined sales, while their debut, Spice, sits at the top of albums with 2.98m sales. Their second album, Spiceworld, sold 1.6m.

Little Mix claim the second best-selling single with “Shout Out To My Ex” (Syco), which was released 20 years after “Wannabe” and has sold an impressive 1.52m to date. That’s followed by All Saints with ‘90s classic “Never Ever” on 1.51m and Fifth Harmony f/TY Dolla $ign’s “Work From Home” (Syco). Little Mix’s “Black Magic” takes fifth place while their fourth album, Glory Days, is #7 on the Top 10 biggest girl band albums.
