HITS HIGH 5: ALL DOLLED UP

While Drake was trolling the Golden State Warriors, Donald Trump was trolling the United Kingdom and we buying troll dolls on eBay, plenty of newsworthy activities were taking place in the music biz.

Mo Ostin and Lenny Waronker gave nods of approval to the new home of Warner Records in DTLA, which brought smiles to the faces of their modern-day counterparts, Co-Chairman/CEO Aaron Bay-Shuck and Co-Chairman/COO Tom Corson. We wondered what happened to some of the characters who once called Burbank home?

Midem commenced in Cannes, France, where  Epic Chairman and CEO Sylvia Rhone accepted a Midem Hall of Fame Award; Joel Katz interviewed global music ambassador Efe Ogbeni; and Troy Carter talked about Q&A and Scooter Braun

Speaking of Scooter, I.B. Bad weighed in on the Scott-Scooter saga, the U.K. agency landscape, the key-man clause and more.

The world is mourning the death of Dr. John who brought the sound of New Orleans to rock & roll and spread it around the globe.

In celebrating Black Music History Month, we take a look at the trailblazing journalist, activist and pioneering radio personality Dyana Williams, known to her radio listeners as Ebony Moonbeams, and chat with Smokey Robinson. If you’re looking for something to listen to celebrate, the streaming services have you covered.
