Another K-Pop act has inked a major label deal in the U.S. This time, the worldwide sensations of Maverick-repped group Monsta X—whose year has so far consisted of sold-out arena shows and millions of streams—have signed to Sylvia Rhone's Epic.
“K-pop has indelibly impacted the global conversation and influenced culture everywhere," shared Chairman and CEO Rhone. At the top of that conversation, you’ll find Monsta X. They’re ushering the genre into the future with an original style befitting of their experience, passion, and diverse influences. We’re honored to welcome them to the Epic Records family."
This news comes ahead of the seventeen-date we are here world tour, which kicks off in Bangkok on 6/1 and wraps at L.A.'s Staples Center on 8/10. See a full list of dates below.
Monsta X is also expected to make history this fall as the first K-pop group to perform at Vegas' iHeartRadio Music Festival—scheduled for 9/21. Will there be new music by then? We hear songs are in the works. We also hear EVP Rick Sackheim has been brushing up on his Korean so that he can properly sing every word at the top of his lungs this summer. If you see him at Staples or in Vegas, be sure to refer to him by his real name: 오래 된 심 술 토끼.
