U.K. MIDWEEKS: TWO IN THE TOP 10 FOR SHEERAN

Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber are battling with Lil Nas X for the U.K.’s Official Singles #1 this week, while Sheeran’s new collab, “Cross Me” f/Chance the Rapper and PnB Rock, starts at #9. Over on albums, Lewis Capaldi is still going strong at #1, outselling the entire Top 3 combined.

At the halfway stage on the singles chart, Sheeran and Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” (Atlantic) is on course for its third week at #1. However, the race is set to be a close call — “Old Town Road” (Columbia) by Lil Nas X is just 820 combined sales behind at #2.

The second highest new singles entry today is Young Thug f/J. Cole and Travis Scott’s “The London” (300) at #17, ahead of NSG’s “OT Bop” (RCA) at #18.

5 Seconds of Summer’s latest single “Easier” (Interscope) starts at #26, while Mark Ronson & Lykke Li’s “Late Night Feelings” (Columbia) rises four places to #29.

Jess Glynne & Jax Jones have teamed up for “One Touch” (Atlantic), which is new at #31, and David Guetta’s “Stay (Don’t Go Away)” with Raye (Parlophone) is #39.

On the U.K.'s Official Albums midweeks, Lewis Capaldi is heading for a second week at #1 with his debut, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (Virgin EMI).

Morrissey’s California Son (BMG) is the highest new entry today at #2. The Elton John biopic soundtrack Rocketman (Virgin EMI) is the second highest at #4, while John’s 50th anniversary album Diamonds (Virgin EMI) rises nine places to #6.

Rock band The Amazons start at #7 with their latest album, Future Dust (Fiction), and Primal Scream’s Maximum Rock ‘N’ Roll: The Singles collection (Sony CMG) is currently #9.
