A hearing over the future of Woodstock 50 will continue today in a New York courtroom as investor Amplifi Live and Michael Lang’s Woodstock 50 LLC duke it out.
Both sides accused each other Monday of breaking promises regarding the festival, scheduled for 8/16-18 in Watkins Glen, N.Y. Woodstock 50 is asking that Dentsu Aegis, parent company of Amplifi Live, return $17.8m of what it termed “misappropriated” funds.
In court papers, Amplifi Live blamed the organizers' "incompetence" as a key reason they took control of the money and canceled the festival.
Meanwhile, a lab in a Greenwich Village basement where brown acid was being manufactured has announced a layoff of 50% of its staff.
