Pulse Music Group and NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music have partnered to award a graduate of the program a development publishing deal with Pulse.

The winning graduate will have the opportunity to develop their songwriting and advance their career in music with the support of Pulse’s A&R team. Pulse Co-CEOs Josh Abraham and Scott Cutler, President Maria Egan, and Clive Davis Institute Chair Jeff Rabhan made the announcement.

About 60 students in each graduating class would be eligible to be awarded the deal with Pulse, which requires all applicants to be graduating seniors of the program and at least 18 years of age.

“The Clive Davis Institute is an incredible organization that attracts top talent, and we’re very excited to offer a graduate access to our resources and our network of songwriters to help further their career,” Abraham said.

Applicants will submit three songs and a personal mission statement. The Pulse Music Group A&R team will vet the submissions and interview finalists, selecting a winner. Pulse will provide the winner with A&R support in the form of introductions to the industry, writing sessions, feedback on songs/creative work, assistance with studio, synch licensing, and publishing administration.

“There is no greater gift than to be able to turn my 20 year professional relationship and friendship with Josh into an opportunity for the next generation of music industry leaders,” Rabhan said.
