Diplo brought Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus out during his set at Stagecoach Sunday night, and the three unlikely collaborators launched into the cultural phenomenon that is "Old Town Road." The occasion set up the drop of Diplo's kickin' new remix of the Columbia mega-smash—have a listen, why doncha?
Considering all the sturm and drang about whether the track is country or not, the country fans at the festival clearly went apeshit when it happened. So make of that what you will.
Diplo's been working on a country-themed project, dubbed Thomas Wesley, with one track, "So Long" f/Cam, already out and other collabs said to be under discussion.
As of this writing the earlier Billy Ray remix remains #1 at Apple Music, #2 at iTunes (with the original Lil Nas track at #7). Remix and original are #2 and 4 at Spotify U.S., respectively and #3 and 4 at Spotify Global (together they've earned 281m+ Spot streams). The BRC remix is a Top 10 seller at Amazon's download store.
