Friday the 13th puts no fear in the hearts of The Lumineers: They’ll release III on 9/13 through Dualtone in the U.S. and Canada and Decca Records in the rest of the world. They released their first single, "Gloria," today. Check out the new song below.
“The album is darker in tone than previous albums and is presented in three chapters, with each one centering on one main character from a fictitious family known as the Sparks, who span three generations in the album's storyline,” said lead vocalist Wesley Schultz.
Schultz and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites wrote the album and welcome new member violinist/vocalist Lauren Jacobson to the band. She appeared on the band's previous two albums.
The trio, augmented by pianist Stelth Ulvang, bassist/backing vocalist Byron Isaacs and multi-instrumentalist Brandon Miller, have tour dates set for the summer including multiple major festivals and will spend November in Europe.
